About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for talented mechanically minded individuals to join our growing skilled engineering team. We are looking for individuals who are hardworking and personable, with a positive can-do attitude!
This role will suit candidates with a passion for fixing and maintaining engines and all things mechanical. If you like fault finding and problem solving then this is the job for you!
Repairing and servicing our mobile welfare units is done at our depot as well as at our customers locations across the South East. So this role will potentially give you the opportunity to get out on the road a few times a week.
If successful, you will be joining one of the fastest growing brands in the construction welfare and site accommodation sector!
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Fixing and maintaining generator engines
- Carryout engine and unit services
- Do under carriage inspections and replace break pads and alike
- Undertake basic electrical installations including heaters and plug sockets and carry out MCB tests on the units (training will be provided)
- Ensure your work is of the highest standard and complete any administration / paperwork associated with each job
- Able to follow instructions from the Yard Manager
Required Skills/experience:
- Previous experience in a similar or relevant role would be highly desirable, for example Car / Motorbike Mechanics, Tractor Mechanics. Or someone with a passion for engines who wants to potentially turn a hobby into a full time job
- Mechanically minded and logical in your thinking
- To have a good mix of general maintenance skills and be competent in basic electrical installations, however training will be given
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Be a tidy worker and look after your tools and equipment
- Have a willingness to learn and the ability to work as a team player within a multidisciplinary team, but also be able to work on your own and attend customer sites to fix and service units
- Have a clean driving license and willing to drive to jobs (please note the role does not require you to stay anywhere overnight)
